EAEMDR organized a meeting with interested stakeholders from Belene area to discuss FAST Danube Project, on 29th May 2019, at Persina Nature Park Administration, Belene, Bulgaria.
The Consultant presented the FAST Danube project with the following topics: project location, project importance at the European level, project goals, stakeholders’ engagement, project status, presentation of the Multi Criteria Analysis (MCA) & MCA Results, types of intervention considered, overriding factors at Belene and preferred options at Belene.
After the presentations, the public (NEK AED, Persina NPD, NPP Kozloduy, Executive Agency for fisheries and aquaculture, WWF Bulgaria, Fisheries Association RIBEL Belene etc) was invited to present its opinions/concerns about the development of the FAST Danube project and the Beneficiary and Consultant responded to all the questions addressed and also both of them emphases the importance of organizing meetings with local authorities and fishery societies for the FAST Danube project to ensure transparency in project management and decision making.
